Breathing & Lung Center

Breathing problems or discomfort are caused by many conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), other lung diseases and heart disease. The term lung function is used to describe how effectively a set of lungs can perform. Several pulmonary function tests can determine a person's exact lung function (e.g., spirometry, peak flow).
